§ 2-5. Offices of the city; terms and appointment.

  • (a)

    Offices. The offices of the city shall consist of the following:

    (1)

    City clerk/treasurer.

    (2)

    Municipal judge.

    (3)

    Municipal prosecutor.

    (4)

    Municipal court clerk.

    (5)

    Chief of police.

    (6)

    Fire chief.

    (b)

    Terms. The term of each office shall be as follows:

    (1)

    City clerk/treasurer—four years or the term of the current city council.

    (2)

    Municipal judge—four years or the term of the current city council.

    (3)

    Municipal prosecutor—at will, to serve at the pleasure of the mayor.

    (4)

    Municipal court clerk—at will, to serve at the pleasure of the mayor.

    (5)

    Chief of police—four years or the term of the current city council.

    (6)

    Fire chief—four years or the term of the current city council.

    (c)

    Appointment. The offices of the city shall be filled by appointment as follows:

    (1)

    City clerk/treasurer—by the council.

    (2)

    Municipal judge—by the council.

    (3)

    Municipal prosecutor—by the mayor.

    (4)

    Municipal court clerk—by the mayor.

    (5)

    Chief of police—by the mayor.

    (6)

    Fire chief—by the mayor.
