From and after the effective date hereof, these regulations shall govern the subdivision
of all land located in the City of Atmore, Alabama, and in addition, shall govern
the subdivision of land within one and one-half miles of the City of Atmore, Alabama.
Any owner of land, which lies within the area of jurisdiction, who wishes to divide
or resubdivide such land into two or more lots, sites, or divisions, for the purpose,
whether immediate or future, of sale or building development, shall submit to the
Planning Commission for approval a plat of the subdivision, which shall conform to
the minimum requirements set forth in these regulations. No subdivider shall proceed
with improvements or installation of utilities in a subdivision until such subdivision
plat shall have been granted final approval by the Planning Commission and such approval
entered in writing on the plat and signed by the Chairman of the Planning Commission,
recorded in the Office of the Escambia County Probate Judge.
